ABOUT
Hyunseung Lee is a graphic designer and illustrator with a BFA in Graphic Design and minor in Illustration from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). His works across branding, editorial, illustration, and infographics are rooted in visual communication that aims to deliver information. Knowledge in various scientific subjects and having a multi-angled perspective are some of his major creative strengths.
Outside of design, his deep interest in science and the study of the natural world are the major sources. Subjects such as evolutionary biology, astronomy, and speculative biology have been longstanding inspiration for his work. How complex systems emerge, interact, and shape the world around us is his fascination.
At its core, Hyunseung’s design practice is driven by viewing design as a tool for understanding complex concepts. How visual communication can make complicated information approachable, engaging, and memorable is his focus. Through combination of graphic design, illustration, and research, Hyunseung strives to communicate scientific ideas in ways that inspire curiosity and encourage people to look deeper into the world.
