Sapience is a fictional science magazine brand established for this typography project.
This was a series of work that focused on handling both magazine layouts and website format with the same content of information. To deliver a convincing design, I looked into various science magazines and their websites to understand how they use images, grids, and text layouts in their formats.
When working on the magazine designs, I was able to learn about specific terms used in publication such as department pages and feature well. For the department page I worked on an article titled “Manta Ray Marvel” under the biology category. As for the feature well, I designed an article titled “Under the Ice: Searching Potential Life in Europa & Enceladus.” One of the images in the article spread was illustrated by myself.
