“Sapience” is a fictional science magazine brand established for this project.
This was a series of work that focused on handling both magazine layouts and website format with the same content of information.
I looked into various science magazines and their websites to understand how they use images, grids, and text layouts in their formats.

When working on the magazine designs, specific articles such as department pages and feature well were necessary.
The department page article is titled “Manta Ray Marvel.”
The feature well article is “Under the Ice: Searching Potential Life in Europa & Enceladus.”
One of the images is a personal illustration done specifically for the article.

For the website design, transferring the content from magazine format to a web article format
while keeping the consistent style of the magazine was the main challenge.
The site design for the Sapience website was inspired by websites like Scientific American and WIRED.

The site design for the Sapience website was inspired by websites like Scientific American and WIRED.
While the content might be the same for both magazine and website, the way it is presented is a lot different,
as the website can benefit from the scrolling action which made it lean towards the vertical format.
By placing vertically long images next to text column, the viewers are able to receive visual and textual information simultaneously.
Such aspect was the strong point of the feature well article in the website format.
